Still in Penang. Have done several interviews now and met some really lovely people. We have also got chatting to some Malaysians in hawker stalls. One octogenarian who learnt English at school here before independence said he was really excited to talk to us! I particularly enjoyed his old-fashioned English and his enthusiasm for all things British. I don’t think I have ever been anywhere as friendly and multicultural as this.
