Karen O’Reilly wins Choice Outstanding Academic Title Award for International Migration and Social Theory.
Outstanding Academic Titles are selected by the editorial staff of Choice (American Library Association), a critical reviews resource relied on by academic librarians for collection decisions. Appearing annually in Choice‘s January issue this prestigious list of publications reflects the best in scholarly titles. Less than three percent of the more than 25,000 titles submitted to Choice for review in 2013 are included on the 2014 list.
International Migration and Social Theory shows how social theory can illuminate our understanding of the way we move around the globe. Explaining and critiquing a wide range of theories, approaches and concepts, the book provides a new theoretical framework for future study of migration and applies it to extended empirical case studies.
