Exercises for Chapter 2 Developing the Design

Sampling. Describe what procedures you will use to ensure your sample will meet initial, ongoing and final fitness. 

What is interpretive sampling? 

Design an initial sample and justify the decisions you make.

Review some published work and assess whether their sample was fit for purpose and why. 

Tests of quality. What are some good ways to test the value or quality of qualitative research? What should we look for in good research? List five ways you would like your research to meet quality criteria.
